Fwd: Bronx Youth Summer Job & Internship Fair 2012

More info re:

Subject: FW: Bronx Youth Summer Job & Internship Fair 2012

Dear VE Coordinator-

As a follow – up to the previous job fair announcement… Please inform your students that this Youth Summer Job & Internship Fair is being sponsored by Council Member James Vacca, the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, JASA, SoBRO (South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corportion, Bronxworks, The New York Public Library, STEPS (Steps To end Family Violence), Year Up New York, BJCC, Lehman High School and WSPNYC.

There will be many small, medium and large sized companies and organizations with representatives at the fair looking to hire their summer staffs. This is a chance to make a great first impression and even get hired on the spot!

Students MUST send me a copy of their resume no later than Monday, May 7, 2012 at 3 pm in order for them to obtain my approval of their resume. It is critical that all the students attending have a perfect resume! Students' resumes must be perfect as they are representing VEI and our standards of excellence! Students will also need to come to the event dressed for success. ( Suit, ironed white shirt, tie, belt, shined shoes… no sneakers, jeans, polos, etc.) I need to have a final list of the students coming to the event and I will send out an email with specific details of a short meeting I will conduct a few minutes before the event begins to prep the students on how best to manage the opportunity. Please send me a copy of the student's resume for my review and approval.

Students will need to bring a large quantity of approved resumes to give out as they meet with these company representatives and talk about the summer jobs available.

You may also contact Raquel Vasquez at Coucil Member Vacca's office at 718-931-1721 with any specific questions about the event that you may have…

Thank you.

Martin
